Student Support
Millennium prioritizes creating a nurturing environment that fosters strong, supportive connections. Our advisory structure enhances relationship dynamics between students and staff, as well as among students themselves.
ADVISORY SUPPORT
Each student’s advisor serves as a vital link between the school and families.
Support provideD
- Informal counseling for academic and social issues
- Close monitoring of advisees’ progress reports each term
- Support in communicating with Guides
- Assistance in developing executive functioning skills
- Help in achieving academic objectives
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
When a student requires support beyond the classroom, the advisor and/or Dean of Students collaborates closely with families to coordinate with external resource providers.
Neurodiversity & Learning Support
The school embraces inclusivity, welcoming students with diverse learning profiles. Our approach is rooted in understanding each student’s unique educational needs while supporting neurodivergent students and social-emotional issues.
SELF-AWARENESS DEVELOPMENT
A key component of Millennium’s educational philosophy is developing deep self-awareness. Students are empowered to understand their cognitive patterns and discover effective learning strategies.
“HOW DO WE LEARN?” QUEST
Starting in sixth grade, students embark on the “How do we learn?” STEM Quest during their fall term, exploring their own neuroprofiles and those of others, which fosters a comprehensive understanding of diverse learning processes.
FLEXIBLE CURRICULUM
Students who have not thrived in traditional educational settings often find success at Millennium due to our progressive, hands-on, and individualized approach. The curriculum allows students to demonstrate mastery through various forms, utilizing individual strengths to effectively communicate learning.

- Regular faculty discussions about students requiring additional support
- Tailored strategies to enhance learning
- Teaching students self-advocacy skills and learning strategies
- Differentiation within and outside the classroom
- Accountability within the advisory system
- Family communications and interventions coordinated by the Dean of Students
ONGOING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our team is well-trained to provide different levels of support tailored to each student’s needs. Staff training is continually enhanced through regular professional development sessions, ensuring adaptation to evolving student needs. This commitment to ongoing education helps us adapt to the evolving needs of our students and maintain our standard of excellence in student support.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
Weekly office hours offer students one-on-one or small group sessions with guides in subjects where extra support is needed.
This comprehensive approach ensures that all students have the resources and guidance they need to succeed both academically and personally at the school.
