The heart of justice is truth telling, seeing ourselves and the world the way it is rather than the way we want it to be. More than ever before we, as a society, need to renew a commitment to truth telling.

JEDI VALUES & ADOLESCENT DEVELOPMENT

Our journey begins with inner work, as we believe Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) can only be realized through collective commitment to conscious self-development. We integrate a JEDI worldview into all aspects of our work to achieve Whole Self well-being.

This commitment to JEDI values is rooted in our understanding of adolescent identity formation and empathy development. During middle school, students explore fundamental questions about identity, relationships, beliefs, and their potential contributions to the world. By incorporating multiple viewpoints, we help students honor their uniqueness while developing skills to effect meaningful change.

Embracing Diversity & Community Partnership

Diversity of perspectives enhances our ability to serve our students and community. This is why we actively seek faculty, students, and families with diverse backgrounds in areas such as gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, culture, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status.

We partner with SMART, a San Francisco non-profit, to address the achievement gap by offering academically rigorous education with scholarships and support to participating students.

While the following data points offer a glimpse into our community’s diversity, we recognize that true inclusivity and representation extend far beyond numbers and cannot be fully captured by statistics alone:

  • 51% students of color
  • 33% flexible tuition
  • 4% LGBTQ families
  • 42%  faculty of color
  • 25 zip codes represented
  • 8 non-English languages spoken at home
  • 38% faculty are multilingual
